Another Kid-ism

Mr. B is into asking questions about everything. Not that this is new or anything, but the NATURE of the questions has changed. Now he wants to know things like, “Why is it called a paper towel?” (because it’s a towel made out of paper) or, “Why is is called a walking stick?” (because it looks like a stick and it can walk), and, “Why is that called a bumble bee?” (because he’s a big bee and he bumbles around!).

So we are reading this Arizona adaptation of the nursery rhyme Hey Diddle Diddle. At the end, it shows all the desert animals hanging out together in the desert and Mr. B says; “I know why it’s called a tactus (cactus).”
“Oh?” I say. “Why?”
“Cuz when we go for walks in the desert, it tacks us with it’s sharp spines!”
